Golden Devil Jamaica 2006 Worthy Park 10 Year – 50%
Stats: Independent bottling of Worthy Park pot-still Jamaican rum that was distilled in 2006 and aged 10 years before being released at 50% ABV. This single cask produced 296 bottles.
Conditions: Enjoyed neat in a Glencairn
Nose: Aquarium, minerality, toffee, saffron, leather, milk chocolate, under-ripe banana, baby powder
Mouth: Chocolate milk, soy sauce, bitter tannin, egg, nutmeg, asparagus, moderate heat
Final Thoughts: This is a bit harsh and unrefined. Doesn’t have the tropical, fruity flavors I crave in a Jamaican rum. The funk is mild and unpleasant. Overall, a disappointing example of what Worthy Park is capable of.
